Capitol Hill Death Party

The news that a "rave" afterparty got disrupted by a man going in and killing 6 people and wounding many others is frightening beyond words. Its because that not only are we forced to hear terrible news that a bunch of innocent individuals lost their lives over unexplained reasons, but that the media is insistent that this has something to do with the fact that it happened after a rave! I mean... it's a rave. It's just a party like any other except instead of playing some crappy hip hop music, you get pure solid dance beats, electronic music, which essentially is what hip hop music is, just without the lyrics in MC lyrikal form. Anyway, the easy going, happy and friendly confines of the electronica community is definitely hurt a little bit now, and I have no idea how such a dastardly intruder got in and broke up a peaceful existence. Word.

I'm not in any sense party of this "rave" community, but I do know alot of people who are. I enjoy the music much so, and I tend to only go to the events are club venues, and which many, many of them are now, since it's essentially illegal not to. It pains me to hear so much negativeness towards the area because it's not what people say it is.
